Meet Ashley

Hi, my name is Ashley and I was born and raised in lovely southern California. I am going into my senior year at Point Loma Nazarene University studying Managerial Organizational Communications. I love being able to help others and have a passion for making people smile! I am the oldest of three girls, so growing up we did a lot of pretend wedding play!

I am so so excited to be apart of the Couture family! I have always loved wedding and especially  love all the flowers. I’m interested in learning what really goes into planning a wedding behind all the glitz and glam. I am so grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to see what this semester holds!

Favorite Starbucks Drink: Zebra Mocha
Favorite Designer: Michael Kors & Tory Burch
Place I Want to Travel: Bali

Meet Kayla

“Oh man! This is real! I Kayla Harrington am one of your Summer 2015 Interns with Couture Events. I am beyond excited and grateful for this opportunity to learn from the best. After watching Cinderella like, who knows, 50 times? I knew that I wanted to be a Fairy God Mother. People, she is the real deal. About 16 years later I am finally getting a shot at making peoples dreams come true.  My dream has never been geared towards being a wedding planner, but to work with individuals making their dreams come true and I have found that Krystel and the Couture Team do just that!

If you’re curious about some fun facts here are some of my favorites!

Designer: Okay, summer is here and I am currently in LOVE with Tommy Bahama. Have you seen there home décor show rooms? So cute, so soft, and you feel like your on a vacation. No harm in loving that.

Starbucks: Haha so you’re going to laugh. My favorite drink at Starbucks is a Trenta iced water. Come on, they use a triple filtration system and their ice makes me happy. You asked. Now go try it!

Where would I Travel?

America! I love bears and backpacks. There are some hidden gems here in California and I intend to see them all.

Lovely meeting you all!

Hello! My name is Morgan Offenheiser. I grew up in the Bay Area, and decided that I needed to experience all that California has to offer, so I moved to San Diego! I am going to be a Senior at University of San Diego where I am studying Marketing. My hobbies are napping on the beach, shopping, reading a juicy book or magazine, and watching movies. I also LOVE to eat. J I am not picky when it comes to food, I’ll literally eat anything. I am so excited to be an intern at Couture Events. I love event planning, working with people, and seeing visions come to life.  I’ve had a soft spot for weddings ever since I was a little girl. I was a flower girl so many times my mom used to joke about renting me out as a professional flower girl! I loved looking at all of the decorations, being up close for the “I Do’s”, and being a dancing queen on the dance floor! I look forward to working with you on your special day!

Favorite Starbucks Drink: Iced Chai Tea Latte

Favorite Designer: Vera Wang

I want to go to: London!!

 Meet Dani

Too start off I am so excited to be working with Couture Events this summer. I searched long and hard and truthfully felt at home the instant I discovered the company. I applied to be an intern hopeful Couture would feel such a connection with me as I did with them, luckily for me they did! I was a four-year student at Azusa Pacific University, and proudly graduated this May just a few weeks ago. I was lucky enough to have an experience of a lifetime not only from my time at my college, but also as I packed my bags and left the Country for four months my junior fall semester. I took part in an abroad program called Semester at Sea where I voyaged thousands of miles to engulf myself with a multitude of countries and cultures. The trip not only created amazing experiences, but also shaped me into the woman I am today. The lessons I learned, people I met, and places I saw will forever be a part of me.

I always knew I had a passion for people and creativity. They both bring me so much joy and love. As my college career started to come closer to a close I knew I wanted to find a career in something that brought those two desires together. My older sister got married in July of 2015 and I was lucky enough to call myself her maid of honor. She had an events coordinator helping her in the process of preparing for her magical day. Throughout the process of planning something just clicked and I felt like I knew exactly what I was called to do. I mean what girl doesn’t dream of the time where she gets to plan her big day?! A passion grew in me thinking about getting to continuously help brides and grooms take the dreams they had for their wedding and create it into a reality. Everything from my style, faith, and ambition directed me to be beyond excited to intern for a company that matched so well with what makes me me. I am truthfully grateful for this opportunity, and ready to work hard to create beauty and be a witness of love.

TRAVEL: Top 5 Honeymoon Planning Tips

Planning your honeymoon? We had the chance to interview Tracy Cox from Kahala Travel. She gave us her top 5 honeymoon planning trips! We love them all!

Your honeymoon will be the most memorable trip of your lifetime. Your friends, family, children and even grandchildren will ask about it for years to come.  You want it to be incredible!

Here are my top 5 tips to planning your amazing experience:

  1. There is so much information out there and it can be very overwhelming and confusing.  Use a knowledgeable travel agent who specializes in honeymoons.  That way you will be working with someone who is in tune with what is being offered and will use that information to help guide you through the process of planning the perfect honeymoon for YOU.  Everyone has different expectations, desires, needs, etc.  It is important that you work with an agent what will help you navigate all that is “out there” to design your perfect honeymoon.
  2. Talk to your fiancé about what he/she has in mind for the honeymoon.  Do they want to lay on a beach with occasionally having an adventure such as Tahiti or do they prefer a cultural experience such as Europe.  If you have different expectations for the honeymoon a travel consultant can help you combine both such as Thailand where you will experience the culture, ride elephants and still have amazing beaches to relax and enjoy the beauty.
  3. There is no doubt about it, the all-inclusive resorts give you the most bang for your buck.  There are many to choose from in many different areas so it is important that you talk to your travel agent about what you are looking to do so she/he can help you plan the best one for YOU.
  4. As great as the all-inclusive resorts are, don’t be afraid to plan one-of-a-kind experiences.  If you want to really do something “different” than the typical honeymoon experience, do it!  As long as you have a good agent guiding you through the process you will end up with some very unique experiences with stories to tell!
  5.  As fun as it is to be spontaneous, it is a good idea to plan early.  Of course it can be done at the “last minute” but why add to the stress of wedding planning.  Also, last minute pricing can be more expensive, especially when looking at airfare.

Here are a few of my favorite honeymoon destinations for:

  Adventure – Costa Rica

Culture – Europe

Relaxation & beaches– Tahiti

All 3 of the above combined – Thailand

All-inclusive – Sandals

 Value – Palace Resorts
