Hi my name is Mackenzie and I am beyond thrilled to be an intern for Couture Events fall 2014! I attended Central Michigan University where I majored in Event Management and minored in Leadership and Apparel Merchandising. I was born and raised in Michigan and have made the exciting move to San Diego to finish out the last part of my education through this awesome internship.

I adore anything that sparkles, spontaneous outdoor adventures, dogs, all-things weddings, and of course In N Out Burger.

I am so excited to be apart of the magic that the girls at Couture Events create.

Hi! My name is Emily Noe and I am so excited to be on the Couture Events team for fall 2014! I am a Junior at Point Loma Nazarene University studying Managerial and Organizational Communication.  For a majority of my life, I have lived in San Diego and I am absolutely in love with the beach! When I’m not out in the surf and the sand, I enjoy running, going to concerts and country music.

I have always loved working with weddings and events. It is so fun seeing how unique every wedding can be and the joy that comes with each one! I am looking forward to learning all that I can from this amazing experience to put toward my future in this industry! I am so excited to join the Couture team and work with all these lovely ladies!

Hi my name is Dani Bartello! I am a third year student attending Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. I am bubbly and enthusiastic in everything I  do… including getting to know new people!

Favorite Starbucks drink : Tall Peppermint Mocha during the holidays because it has just the right amount of Christmas spirit and chocolate, which is my favorite dessert.

Favorite Designer :  Amelia Sposa because of the lace and exquisite backs in the designs of the dresses, and I hope one day to acquire a dress similar to Amelia’s style for my future wedding day.

Favorite Book : My passion for Jesus is so important in my life, and one of my favorite books to read and inspire me is “Love Does” by Bob Goff because of the encouraging messages of love portrayed through Bob’s life stories.

Favorite Movie : Not only do I have a love for Jesus, but I also has a huge heart for Disney! My favorite movie is Tangled, and it is one that I watch more than any other movie produced. I also have a Disneyland pass and I spend a lot of time at the parks with my family on a monthly basis for quality time and memories of a lifetime!

the simple things

These days it’s very easy to get caught up in your own hectic schedule, which makes it difficult to be present in your current relationships let alone formulate new ones. It happens to myself from time to time as well. I always have to remember to set aside a moment to reconnect with those I love.

Even when you are dealing with all life’s obstacles, sometimes showing your love is easier than you think! Being “busy” can no longer be an excuse to stop showing you care! Sometimes showing you love is as simple as 1,2,3…

Handwritten notes are something that I have always adored. Since I have been thirteen, I have kept aside every single card or letter I’ve been given. I think when something is written out, pen to paper, it’s just more personal.  Seeing a simple “I love you” on a sticky note when you wake up, or an anonymous “you are beautiful” note left on your car, would be a sweet start to anyone’s day.

Compliments can always make you happier. Ever notice that when someone compliments you, it changes you whole mood or sometimes even your entire day? Be that day-changer for a total stranger, you never know what they could be going through.  So a sweet word from you will definitely put a smile on their face, no matter what!

It sounds so easy, yet really few master it. With many of us having a lot on our plate, sometimes just having someone to be there to lend an ear is all we need. But the real trick is to listen with intent; you must give your full attention to them. Taking the time out of your busy schedule to be there for them will mean a lot and make them feel important…but most of all, loved.

Just remember that showing your love doesn’t have to be a grand gesture. So the next time a little extra love is needed, just keep in mind that sometimes it’s the simple things that can mean the most.
